Our client, a family-owned but independently run Dairy food processing company in Nyamira County, Kenya is seeking to recruit the expertise of a Dispatch Clerk. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall coordination & management of safe, efficient, handling, dispatch & distribution of products. He/she will be required to ensure inventory losses are less than 1% and currently has a position title of dispatch clerk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure daily delivery targets are met.
  • Ensure the correct procedure for deliveries is adhered to.
  • Sufficientlyinteracting with the other functional departments as required.
  • Attention to detail is essential for building and stocking displays to company standards.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a group and contribute to a smoothly flowing experience for all customers.
  • A detailed understanding of products or services solid and the ability to correctly answer customer questions as needed.
  • Daily inspections on delivery vehicles– any deviations on condition to be reported.
  • Manage and coordinate consumables for daily consumption.
  • Handle other duties such as invoicing, receiving, etc. if/when required.
  • Good knowledge of flexible packaging products.
  • Ensure all dispatched products are of the correct quantity, type and quality.
  • Continuous improvement in the warehouse while ensuring the inventory is accurate and up to date.
  • Put in overtime if/when required by Management.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a busy flexible packaging finished goods store or in the manufacturing sector.
  • Must have a higher diploma or bachelor’s degree in procurement or business-related course.
  • Dependability, Verbal Communication, and Ability to Handle Pressure.
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience working with SAGE Evolution.
  • Great interpersonal & time management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of operations procedures & processes.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement management from a recognized Institution is a plus advantage.
  • Experience with Sage Evolution a plus advantage.
  • Ability to spend an extended period working in a standing position.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills are needed to accurately close out transactions and provide change to customers.
  • The ability to multitask and balance the needs of several customers at once is mandatory.
