Business Development and Relationship Manager – Consumer Foods
Overview

Buhler group in Kenya is looking for passionate sales professional to join the team as Business Development and Relationship Manager to strengthen the company’s Consumer Foods Business like Biscuits, Wafer, roasted Coffee, Countlines, Chocolate and Bakery in the East Africa region, with strong focus on Kenya. This position will be responsible to ensure the development of our customer base, implementation of business strategy and ensuring that the business targets are achieved in the assigned markets.

Tasks
• Consulting of customers in the consumer food industry and developing optimized and market solutions for them with support of the business units
• Promotes Consumer Foods business in East Africa region.
• Active development of the Plant & Projects, Single Machine and Customer Service (CS) business in East African markets and strengthen Buhler’s market presence in these assigned territories.
• Implementation of strategic market initiatives, further development of the regional business and strengthening of customer relationship.
• Focused approach on the development of new client relationships and on developing new market segments.
• Work closely with the regional management and country leaders to develop business strategies specific to the market after having shown first results in Kenya
• Lead the strategic initiatives in the region in close collaboration with business units and region
• Identify and develop stronger influencers in the market for the development of Buhler business.
• Prepares input (offcheck) to generate quotations, conducts sales negotiation with support where necessary, and ensures the successful completion of projects.
• Achieves the sales targets in his assigned territory.
• Has the responsibility for the customer relationship also during project execution and not in the sales phase only (from the beginning to the end)

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management.
• Higher technical education with further training in Marketing/Sales will be an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications
• Several years of solid experience in the consumer food industry, either in manufacturing, technology, consulting or sales
• Good connections to the players in the consumer food industry in the Kenyan and Eastern African Market
• Solid business management and commercial experience
• Good market knowledge of East Africa
• Fluency in English, Kiswahili is an advantage.
• Insightful, able to collaborate in developing strategy and implementing business plans and forecast.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural and diverse environment.
• Good team player in a global matrix organization.
• Focused approach on the development of new client relationships in the assigned area.
• Ability to conduct sales conversations and multimillion contract negotiations (with support where necessary)
