Assistant Livestock Production officers JG ‘H’ – 17 POSTS.

Terms of service: Three years (3) contract- Renewable

Basic salary:Ksh:25,470 x 1,110–26,580×1,120–27,700×1,150–28,850×1,170–30,020×1,250–31,270×1,300–32,570×1,380–33,950 p.m

House allowance: Ksh.3,200
Hardship allowance: Ksh.6,600
Leave allowance: Ksh. 4,000

Requirements for appointment.

For appointment to this post, candidate must

1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C or its equivalent
2. A Diploma in any of the following fields: Animal health and Production, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Science and Technology, Agribusiness, Animal Production Farm Management, Apiculture, Range management, Natural resource management or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Carrying out practical demonstrations relating to livestock production
2. Collecting livestock and collating livestock data and information
3. Farm visits and farmer training
4. Participating in field days and agricultural shows to disseminate livestock production technologies and information
5. Participating in collaborative research activities

Animal Health Assistant JG ‘G’ – 9 POSTS.

Terms of service: Three (3) years contract- Renewable

Basic Salary:Ksh22270x1040–23310×1070–24380×1,090–25,470×1,110–26,580×1120–27700×1,150–28,850×1,170–30,020p.m
Risk allowance: Ksh: 3,850

Requirements for appointment.

For appointment to this post, candidate must

1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- or its equivalent
2. Possession of a certificate in Animal Health, Animal health and production from a recognized institution
3. Be registered by the Kenya Veterinary Board

 Duties and Responsibilities: –

1. Undertaking disease control activities search as disease search, vaccination and enforcement of livestock movement regulations
2. Participating in the training of stakeholders in vector control programmes
3. Treating sick animals
4. Advising on good veterinary practices
5. Collecting data and preparing reports on animal health, products and markets
6. Providing advice on animal breeding and welfare
7. Undertaking post mortem examination and other diagnostic tests
